Reichert Statement on President's Tax Plan

Apr 26, 2017 Issues: Tax Policy

Washington, D.C. - Today, Congressman Dave Reichert (R-WA) released the following statement in response to President Trump's tax reform announcement:

“Mothers and fathers, business owners, and hard-working Americans across Washington and the U.S. deserve a simpler tax system that lets them keep more of their hard-earned money," said Rep. Reichert. "Families shouldn’t be forced to hire a professional to help them wade through our messy, complex tax code.  We should be able to file our taxes in minutes, not days, and on one form you don’t need a law degree or CPA license to understand.  I am glad President Trump is committed to working with Congress to achieve this for the American people and to put our country on a pro-growth track that allows us to compete internationally and create more jobs here at home. We have been hard at work in the Ways and Means Committee to create a tax code that better serves the American people, and I look forward to continuing that work with the Administration and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle.”
