Reichert Statement on the Passing of First Lady Barbara Bush

Washington, DC - Tonight, following the passing of former First Lady Barbara Bush, Representative Dave Reichert (R-WA) released the following statement:

“Today, America mourns the loss of an icon. Former First Lady Barbara Bush was the symbol of grace when serving as First and Second Lady and always a dedicated mother and grandmother. Her legacy of being a strong advocate for global literacy and cancer research will be remembered for generations. My thoughts, prayers, and sincerest condolences are with her husband of 73 years, former President George H.W. Bush, and her family as they reflect on her life on this earth, share the pain of her loss, but joyfully celebrate her new life with her Father in Heaven.”
